چکیده

Climate change poses a remarkable challenge to global food security, for which wheat is one of the main staple agricultural commodities. The cultivation different varieties winter in Galicia (commercial and native) under rotation systems with potato, maize oilseed rape was evaluated from an environmental point view. general approach this study included gathering inventory data crops, quantification their impacts economic benefits, identify best land management system. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) used as tool. profiles each system were reported terms nine impact categories. Crop rotations analysed both per hectare € gross margin, so that information can be relevant land-management decisions. Preference ranks established based on normalized score units. results suggest arable operations contribute decisively profile rotations. avoided mineral fertilization processes, carbon storage soil when returning straw field, well electricity production clearly influence Scenarios include native organic are always environmentally preferred ones while alternate crop depends reference unit. Concerning margin gross, scenarios including variety report highest profits, being potato crop. Further assessment needs undertaken differences ways conducting LCA, i.e. attributional vs consequential approaches.

Influence of herbicides on yield stability of winter wheat cultivars under different sowing rates

Yield variability of selected winter wheat cultivars under different sowing rate and selected application, was investigated during 2006-2008, in the Lower Silesia region (South-West Poland). Experiments with two varieties, two levels of sowing rate and seven herbicides, including untreated object were set up on the same field, using split-plot method. For evaluation of yield stability Kang'...

Microbial Biomass C and N and Activity of Enzymes in Soil under Winter Wheat Grown in Different Crop Management Systems

Microbial and biochemical analyses of soil under winter wheat in a field trial with various cultivation systems (organic, conventional and monoculture) were performed during 3 growing seasons: 2001, 2002 and 2003. The activities of the tested enzymes (dehydrogenase and phosphatases) and microbial biomass C and N contents in the monoculture soil were generally significantly lower than those in t...

Adjusting yield components under different levels of N applications in winter wheat

This work presents information on the patterns of yield determination by yield components as a function of the level of management of the crop. The data used for the analyses were obtained from 8 field experiments located across Poland in 2009 and 2010. 25 winter wheat cultivars were evaluated at two management levels, i.e., at a low input of nitrogen fertilisation and pesticides and at a h...

Soil Β-glucosidase Activity under Winter Wheat Cultivated in Crop Rotation Systems Depleting and Enriching the Soil in Organic Matter

β-glucosidase (E.C. 3.2.1.21), an enzyme involved in cellulose degradation, plays an important role in the soil organic carbon cycle. Cellulose is the most abundant organic compound in the biosphere so a product of its enzymatic hydrolysis is important as an energy source for soil microorganisms. Since β-glucosidase is very sensitive to different factors, determination of its activity might be ...

Water Leakage and Nitrate Leaching Characteristics in the Winter Wheat–Summer Maize Rotation System in the North China Plain under Different Irrigation and Fertilization Management Practices

Field experiments were carried out in Huantai County from 2006 to 2008 to evaluate the effects of different nitrogen (N) fertilization and irrigation management practices on water leakage and nitrate leaching in the dominant wheat–maize rotation system in the North China Plain (NCP). Two N fertilization (NF1, the traditional one; NF2, fertilization based on soil testing) and two irrigation (IR1...
